Affordable Paradise - Molokai, "The Friendly Isle"
Between the bustling islands of Oahu and Maui lies an isle which in shape resembles Manhattan, but which in spirit and rhythm is far more then an ocean away from the smog-shrouded shores of the Big Apple.
There are hardly any traffic lights, no shopping malls or fast food restaurants.
Leprosy struck the Hawaiian Islands during the 19th century and Kalaupapa Peninsula became the living hell to which the desease's victims were exiled. Now it is called the Friendly Isle because of its laid back atmosphere and low key tourist industry.
