Nice outdoor space. Easy walk to town
I loved the location of Garden Studio! It's only a few minutes walk to the beach, and is close to shops and restaurants. No need to drive if you don't want to! The studio is the perfect size for someone traveling solo, as I did, or a couple, and was nice and clean. Beach towels and chairs are available to use during the stay, which I used daily. I have to throw in that although there is A/C, I did not use it once during my stay! The ceiling fan and the wonderful island breezes were enough to keep me cool, and I'm from Alaska :) The nightly gecko visits were very enjoyable as well.
All in all, it was an awesome visit, and I love the vibe of Kailua.
A calm, quiet place, nicely decorated, with really complete equipment, especially in the kitchen, and our own lanai.Friendly hosts. Situated comfortably between the beaches (Kailua,Lanakai) and downtown (both 5 minutes drive).
Lovely, comfortable studio near one of the best beaches on the planet. Walking distance to Kailua Beach Park and close to one of the busiest water sports outfitters in town. Hosts are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We are hoping for another visit here soon!
The garden studio was very comfortable and convenient. Hostess was lovely. Would definitely stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit is convenient to shops and a great selection of coffee bars. It's well managed, affordable, and gets a 10+ for decor. The beaches here are awesome! Mahalo!
Great location. Very pleasant to be on such a quiet street. The lanai was fine for outdoor eating and visiting. It has all the gear you need for the beach and Kailua beach is an easy walk from the room. We visited relatives in Honolulu who live near the Pali Highway and it was an easier drive than if we had stayed near Waikiki. There were two of us.
4 blocks from the beach for under $100/night. That, by itself, would be enough for me, but the unit was also clean / stocked appropriately / private feeling. Really enjoyable place to stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. Lots of room for what you pay compared to 2 other simular rentals we have had in Kailua. Very nice outside sitting area and very private spot. Easy to get to and nice quiet neighborhood. You can walk to just about anywhere.
I love staying here it was my 3rd time and it's never a let down there is so much to do around it and everyone is always so nice the freedom of coming and going as you please and to have your own parking spot is always a plus...I would only suggest maybe a heavier blanket for the bed but that is the only issue but other than that I'll keep coming back
The studio was just as advertised...everything was wonderful! Very pleased!
We had a great 9 days at the Garden Studio. We loved sitting outside on the private patio. The suite is in a great part of town because it is within walking distance to the beach and also downtown. Kailua is a great little town because it is not as busy as Honolulu but still has everything that is needed for a fun time. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare simple meals. I don't really have any complaints about this place.
Studio is located in a very quiet neighborhood. The studio itself is very spacious with towels, beach bags, and beach umbrella. Kitchen is well equiped. Very clean and pleasant place to stay in.
Stay was enjoyable. Location was not the same we selected once we first chose our B&B, but it worked out. Was just a longer walk to the beach. Other than that, everything was great. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. Loved the patio area.
Gabriele, our host, made our stay in Kailua perfect. We needed a studio with separate entrance, mini-kitchen, bathroom, and air conditioning. One can check for all of these on a web site. What you can't verify is the type of personality that is renting to you.
Gabriele is gracious, friendly, and helpful. We were blessed to have her has our host.
The studio is behind the garage. Though there is no view, you're tucked into a tiny alcove with a covered patio and some tropical plants, we felt quite cozy and comfortable here.
About the studio - The bed was very comfortable. We stayed at three different places on this trip. This bed was the best. We did not need the air conditioning, but it's an important option. On other visits to Hawaii we've stayed in places not on the ocean that didn't have air conditioning. And we suffered during a heat spell. The beach is an easy walk from the studio. I'd walk there most every morning. Get coffee at the little market and go sit out on the beach. The mini-kitchen had everything we needed for easy quick meals. The bathroom is attractive with a beautiful tiled shower.
We stayed for a week in March and found the studio to be a good place for us to stay. It was in a quiet neighborhood, in nice condition, and since we like to snorkel, we appreciated the beach towels as well.
a wonderful place in a cute town. the perfect spot for a week on oahu. quiet, clean and comfortable and at a great price. we loved the lanai! and so happy the bus stop, the beach and a great market are so close!
A small, quiet, clean, comfortable studio about four blocks from the beach. It has private parking onsite in a safe neighborhood, and enough of a kitchen to prepare simple meals. There is no view, so your enjoyment is in being close to the beach. The owners are very pleasant and eager to provide what you need to make your stay enjoyable. It is a very good value.
Garden Studio was perfect for our needs during our three-night stay. We particularly enjoyed the patio and its garden setting.
This very reasonably priced studio rental is on a quiet street beside a park, just a 9 minute slow walk to Kailua Beach where it can be accessed from Kailua Beach Park near Kalapawai Market. There is a bedroom that includes a very well equipped kitchenette, a bathroom with shower, and a nice quiet ground level garden lanai (deck-patio). The friendly and helpful owner is readily available for any request large or small and it was almost perfect except for a few things that let it down. One example, our bed pillows were not clean enough and smelled less than fresh, and a quick mention was all it took for the owner to get them laundered within a couple of hours on a Saturday.
Smells and dampness. The Windward side of O'ahu is quite damp in the winter, and this unit is all in the shade. It was too damp and humid inside and this resulted in a stale musty smell. In addition, the carpet seemed stained, and the bed frame seemed to be a very heavy and unmovable former waterbed base, and consequently we could see thick dust underneath from the headboard end indicating that no-one has cleaned under there for a long time. The dampness extended into the drawers and these drawers contained a very musty and malodorous bedspread. This was quite unacceptable. We moved on to Kauai, and all our clothes were still musty as we unpacked in a hotel there.
The owner could just get a normal lightweight bed that can be moved for cleaning each week, shampoo the carpet and install a heavy-duty dehumidifier and run it around the clock for a few days, and then this little place will be quite nice once it is dried out and clean.
We loved our stay at the Garden Studio in Kailua. It was perfectly located -- short walk to town and short walk to beach. It had everything we needed at the right price
Thanks to The Finns for providing this lovely little hide-away! Perfect place for those seeking quiet, comfortable, self-catering accomodation away from the tourist hassle.
The studio is very thoughtfully equipped. We loved the environmental-conscious attitude of our hosts, the quiet setting in a safe and very nice neighbourhood close to the beach and in walking distance to the town centre.
The accommodations delivered everything promised. We had a lovely time. A few minutes walk to the best beach (arguably) on the island. Quiet neighborhood, local restaurants. We are glad we avoided the tourist area.
After visiting Oahu, Kauai, Maui and the Big Island, I say the best beach overall in Hawaii was at the Kailua Beach Park and at Lanikai Beach. The studio is close to both beaches, it is nicely separated from other parts of the house, has internet and air conditioning. We liked our stay very much, thanks!
We stayed there for a week and felt very comfortable there. Our unit was in the back of the house and there was a little patio and garden. We enjoyed sitting out there enjoying the light breeze after a long day touring the island. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well maintained. It's only 10 minute walk to restaurants and shopping center, yet it's secluded enough and quiet except for when the other unit in the back was in the back yard having dinner. There was an A/C unit which was absolutely necessary for us because the first few days we got there, it was pretty hot. It's 10 minute walk to Kailua Beach Park, so we just walked to the beach to hang out there in the evening. There's a water sports/tour company and a good shave ice shop on the way to the beach. That was a plus. All in all, I'd stay here if I visit Oahu again.
I had a lovely experience staying at Garden Studio in Kailua. The apartment was cute, quiet and clean. I especially loved the private entrance and porch, surrounded by lush greenery. It was a relaxing and peaceful "home away from home." The studio was affordable and offered a short, convenient walk to Kailua town and also the beach. I would definitely recommend to other price-conscious travelers seeking affordable, worry-free accommodations. Our stay here surely made for a pleasant experience while on Oahu.
I stayed here with my girlfriend early in March. It's a nice little room: has all of the basics. Pretty clean, definitely would consider staying here again. It's quiet and definitely was all we needed since we spent most of our time out and about. Only suggestion would be for the landlord to do something with the TV as the remote didn't work. Wasn't a big deal since I had my ipad and there's free Wifi.
Overall, good stay.
we were very pleased the room was well equipped for our stay, and we appreciate the cleaning fee was waived. We liked the fact that the patio was private and Gabrielle and Lee were helpful when we asked for anything. We did however find a disposable razor cover in the shower, and we would like to suggest that there be new cups placed in the kitchen. Overall our stay was very pleasant, thank you.
The Garden Studio is a pleasant little living space for two people within easy walking distance to Kailua Beach and downtown stores. Our host was very responsive to our requests, which were minimal. I would recommend it to my friends.
Lovely, quiet, peaceful.
This room is close to the beach and downtown. very convenient and quiet.
We recently stayed 3 nights at the Garden Studio in Kailua. The room was clean, comfortable and very convenient to the beach and town. I loved that beach supplies were readily available for our use: Towels, mats, umbrella, chairs and a cooler for drinks and food. I would recommend this place and would definately stay here again if we are in the area. Cannot beat the accomodations for the price!
My daughter and I stayed at the Garden Studio for a week. We really enjoyed the privacy and the quiet location. We were able to walk to the beach and restaurants and everything was very convenient.
We felt very safe in the neighborhood.
Garden Studio was exactly what we needed, a quiet and private place to stay after a month of travel in Australia and Indonesia. Very important to have self-catering facilities as we were tired of eating in restaurants. Everything worked, except the coffee maker probably needs a replacement - I emailed the Finns to let them know. Great to be so near the beach and also close to lovely walks in the forests. We would certainly book through you again on a return visit.
We had a lovely stay in the garden studio which was perfect for our needs. Great location - short walk to Kailua beach and easy drive to town. We enjoyed breakfast in the garden courtyard and the kitchen had everything we needed for light cooking.
The minute We saw this little studio we were enraptured. It is totally private, extremely peaceful, and at the end of a garden walk is our own little patio and covered porch, or lanai, as they say in Hawaii. Totally private. We never heard the neighbors or the owner family, yet they were there if you needed information. The little efficiency is tastefully and sensibly equipped, and the bed is extremely comfortable. We never did use the AC, since the evening breezes are so heavenly. We drove over to the beautiful Kailua Beach each day, but it is indeed walkable, as are a couple of restaurants in the area. If we go back we will return to this studio!
This is a detached bedroom with its own entrance through a side gate. Facility was clean, neat, quiet, and adequately supplied for my visit, although it would have been better if it had a clock radio. Air conditioner worked fine until it stopped running halfway through my stay. The homeowner was very cordial and pleasant. The facility met my needs and was reasonably priced.
My boyfriend and I needed a comfortable and affordable place to stay while visiting family members on the windward side of Oahu. My parents house couldn't fit all the visiting adults so we had to look around the local area for studio-type rooms on short notice. The Garden Studio was perfect for what we wanted, and offered us all the necessary amenities for a 2-night stay. I've been to Kailua plenty of times so we did not require a tour guide or anything above and beyond accomodations - just a clean bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The hosts were sweet and let us keep to ourselves, but made themselves available if we needed anything. I'd recommend the Garden Studio to any couple who isn't looking to spend most of their vacation in a luxury hotel/room/studio/apartment. We came back to sleep at the end of the day to a clean room in a nice neighborhood, 5 min. walking distance from the beach. Great find!
My husband and I had the best week ever, the studio was perfect. As it wason theeast sideof the island,we did not have to struggle through the trafficofwakiki. We were 5 minutes ( walk)from Kailua beach, perfect forkayaking and snokling. The Finn's were a great host, very quiet everything we needed. Hoping totake another vacation tomaui next january with the kids, hope you have a few propweties on the island. ifyoudo, please send me alink thank you.
The Garden Studio is well hidden in the back and quiet. We felt very comfortable sleeping with the door and windows open. Very safe neighborhood and super nice people. A short easy walk to the best beach on the island. We swam daily with sea turtles and mingled with the locals for the best music and food. We would certainly stay here again. Mahalo to the owners, we miss it so much already.
